This sound piece asks you to envision yourself at various ages that fall within, and far beyond, a typical human life span (from one second to 1.4 billion years old). Structured like a guided meditation that vibrates with layers of voice recordings, it harnesses the transformative power of the refrain to shake the listener’s sense of self.

you are years old was presented as part of my MFA thesis at 205 Hudson Gallery, New York, NY, March 30–April 9, 2022 (above), then again on Governor’s Island in 2024 in an exhibition presented by Flux Factory.
